FHE fun

So this post is mostly for the grandparents but I hope you all will enjoy it. For FHE the other night Luke thought it would be good to teach the kids about testimonies. So we told them what testimonies were and bore our testimonies to them. Then they got to have a turn. I figured Nana and Grandma Trace would get a kick out of these. Of course we had to use Riley's light saber as a microphone.

Then this Monday we decided to talk about fire safety. So we started off by roasting marsh mellows and having s'mores. Then we taught fire drills. Riley thought it was lots of fun until he suddenly realized if there was a fire it would burn up his xbox. He was sudden crushed and started crying. We tried to explain that IF we ever did have a fire and his xbox burned up we would get a new one.... "but what about all my games, sniff, sniff" he replied. We had to laugh because it was so cute. We made the mistake of practicing the drill in Emma's room so then she would not sleep in there because of the fire. Thankfully that didn't last and she slept in there last night. Our kids are so fun and they are learning so much. It is great to help and watch them learn. Family Home Evenings are quickly becoming our favorite part of the week. The kids know when it is Monday and all day they ask when Daddy is getting home so we can have FHE.

Luke's huge double s'more

Not a great picture, but here's Riley's burnt to a crisp Marsh mellow.
S' more face!

Taking advantage of good weather.

What fun ideas for FHE! Your kids are so cute. I am sad too that we missed seeing you guys when you were here. Poor Luke had to watch Abby throw up when we saw him! Sorry :o) We are excited to see you at the family reunion though!

You guys have such cute ideas!! It was cute to see your family in FHE action when we came to visit you. I can't wait until Payton is old enough to really enjoy stuff like that.

I love the FHE idea. Our kids get all stressed about fire safety too. I am totally going to try the smores idea!

Cute FHE nights! I need to be better about doing them, it's hit and miss still since Adi is so young and doesn't really pay attention, but Aldon loves the Family Activity part. Cute smores pics! I'm stealing that idea too!
